Stakeholder Intelligence Gathering for Market Access

Early Signals. Informed Decisions. Stronger Biosecurity.

Welcome to SIGMA  NSW

SIGMA NSW is a proactive engagement and intelligence-gathering program designed to support NSW’s plant based industries in responding to current and emerging biosecurity threats. The program focuses on collecting early insights from industry stakeholders to inform current and long-term market access planning and decision-making.

Whether a pest is newly detected or under active response SIGMA NSW ensures that industry voices are heard so that NSW can maintain market confidence, protect trade relationships, and support local businesses.

Why SIGMA NSW?

  • Early engagement ensures timely action, allowing NSW government and business to prepare for less ideal scenarios, such as trade restrictions or pest establishment.
  • Industry intelligence is critical to shaping practical, informed biosecurity strategies and action plans.
  • Consultative planning ensures that industry’s concerns in both immediate response and long-term market access needs are addressed.

Who should participate?

We invite stakeholders across NSW’s agricultural supply chains—including growers, processors, exporters, and industry bodies—to provide input using SIGMA; an online resource and pathway to submit structured input into decision making about biosecurity threats to plant based industries. Your feedback helps shape NSW’s approach to biosecurity and trade, ensuring it reflects real-world business needs and risks.
