
Varroa basics is a short online course to provide beekeepers with a basic introduction to Varroa, focusing on life cycle and symptoms, detection, spread, monitoring, and integrated pest management. It consists of 15 topics and a quiz.
It will be most applicable for beekeepers in areas yet to have detected Varroa in hives or where there have been recent detections.
This online training is expected to take 30 minutes to complete.
Introduction to Varroa Management is a short online course that takes beekeepers through a series of topics to help better understand Varroa and prepare for the mite.
The course covers mite monitoring and surveillance, cultural and mechanical controls, synthetic and non-synthetic chemical use, record-keeping, safety measures and more.
It consists of 9 topics with a quiz at the end of each one. A certificate of completion is available at the end of the training.
Each topic can typically be completed in 20-30 minute blocks with beekeepers able to continue and log back on at their convenience.

Beyond the Hive is a series of video case studies where commercial beekeepers speak about their experiences with Varroa mite and the effects it has had on their business. This series focuses on Varroa discovery, changes made to running their businesses, hive losses, lessons learnt, integrated pest management, financial impacts and what the future of beekeeping looks like for them.
