Forestry Industry Action Plan
The NSW Government is developing a Forestry Industry Action Plan.
In August 2024, the NSW Government appointed an Independent Forestry Panel to lead consultation on the Action Plan.
The Independent Forestry Panel has finalised and published its Stakeholder Consultation Report, which summarises feedback from across industry, community and environmental groups.

What happens next
The panel has now been tasked with preparing a Considerations Report.
The report will build on stakeholder feedback to help inform government decision-making by:
- analysing the key issues raised during consultation
- identifying opportunities to reform and grow the industry
- outlining the factors the NSW Government will consider in developing the Forestry Industry Action Plan
