Forestry Industry Supply Chain Support Program

To be eligible for the Forestry Industry Supply Chain Support Program, you must meet the eligibility requirements set out in the program guidelines (PDF, 734.29 KB) and summarised below:

• The business must have had a contract or agreement for the supply of timber or by-products from a sawmill or contractor that has had a reduction in their wood supply as a consequence of the moratorium.
• The majority of the business’ inputs must have been hardwood or by-products sourced from a sawmill or contractor affected by the moratorium.
• The business must have the ability to source the same or similar hardwood, or alternatives to hardwood, or by-product from a new supplier.

Impacted businesses can apply for the grant to cover costs including:

• the incremental difference between the previous supplier’s price and the new supplier’s price for the purchase of the same or similar hardwood, or alternatives to hardwood, or by-product from a new supplier
• freight costs associated with sourcing the same or similar hardwood, or alternatives to hardwood, or by-product from a new supplier.

Applicants will need to complete the online application form and provide the following:

• Council rates notice for property owners or copy of lease agreement for lessee's
• A copy of your contract, agreement or other documentation evidencing your timber or by-product supply (direct or indirect) from a sawmill or contractor affected by the moratorium.
• Invoices from the previous three months which evidence amounts paid to a sawmill or contractor affected by the moratorium.
• Confirmation of the applying business’s bank details, such as the front page of a bank statement showing the account name, BSB, and account number.

Ensure that your documents are scanned individually as they will need to be uploaded to specific sections throughout the form. Please note that the online form has file size restrictions (approx. 20MB total). For each attachment, please ensure the file size is 2.5MB or less to avoid submission issues.

• prepare your supporting documentation.

It’s important to note that program funding is limited, and NSW Fisheries and Forestry processes applications in the order of date received. You will be notified of the outcome of your application as soon as possible.

If approved, you can claim payment of up to the maximum approved grant amount by submitting valid tax invoices and proof of payment for eligible expenses. If you previously provided these documents to verify eligibility in your initial application, you will need to resubmit them as a claim after approval.

Once your application is approved, NSW Fisheries and Forestry will provide detailed information on the claims process.

Applications are open until 4pm on 8 September 2026 (or earlier if program funds are exhausted).

Once your application has been approved, you will be advised of the process to submit valid tax invoices to claim payments up to the maximum approved grant amount. If you provided valid tax invoices and proof of payment to verify eligibility in your initial application, you will need to resubmit them as a claim.

To submit a claim, you will need:

• BP reference number
• ABN
• the case number from your original application
• valid tax invoice(s)
• proof of payment.

Please note, claims for this program must be submitted by 4pm on 8 September 2026.
