The construction is well underway with the drilling of piles and pouring of concrete for the foundations of the new laboratories now completed. The stairwells and goods lift have been formed and concrete to complete these will be poured shortly.
The temporary laboratory that will house operations during the refurbishment of existing laboratories was delivered to the site on 16 June. This laboratory was purpose-built in Picton and transported to the site on 10 semi-trailers. This is just one example of a local supplier benefiting from the project. The temporary laboratory will be fitted out over the next month and we expect to move our first lab functions in early August.
User groups have continued to work together to establish future work arrangements and to identify the minimum amount of stores and equipment they will need in the temporary laboratory. Pallet racking has been installed in the maintenance shed to provide storage.
A tender for removalist services has been issued and the successful tenderer will commence working with staff to tag and remove laboratory equipment over the coming weeks and months.
