American foulbrood (AFB) is a notifiable disease of honeybees. This interactive map shows where AFB has been reported in NSW via the online form. The areas identified are approximately 100 square km grids. A grid square is coloured if there has been at least one AFB report within that grid square or within 10km of that grid square. The darker the colour, the more reports have been received in that area. The map is updated weekly.
It is a condition of registration that all beekeepers in NSW meet their obligations regarding AFB under the Australian Honey Bee Industry Biosecurity Code of Practice. In particular, see sections 4 and 7 of the Code.
If you require further information or support, please email bee.biosecurity@dpi.nsw.gov.au with your request and providing your best contact details and a DPIRD Bee Biosecurity Officer will contact you.
