Temora is a major component of NSW DPI’s bread wheat program, which is now part of Enterprise Grains Australia. The production of dual purpose (grazing) or winter wheats has been a feature of the Temora program with recent releases including varieties such as Wedgetail.
The oat breeding program at Temora has remained publicly funded until 2006. The program has focused on dual purpose varieties (grazing and grain) with particular emphasis on Barley Yellow Dwarf resistance.
