Recent and current projects at CROA
CROA’s objectives are being achieved by undertaking collaborative projects which are characterising Recycled Organic products and quantifying their agronomic performance; examining soil and environmental criteria; and developing best practice guidelines and extension programs for beneficially reusing recovered resources.
There are eight projects currently being undertaken at CROA:
- Quantifying the benefits of recycled organics in agricultural cropping systems
- Composting as a means of managing large numbers of livestock mortalities
- Guidelines for the safe reuse of metal-containing wastes on land
- Guidelines for the use of recycled organics in agriculture
- Guidelines for using compost in land rehabilitation and catchment management
- Integrated Soil and Crop Management for Rehabilitation of Vegetable Production in the Tsunami-affected Areas of NAD Province, Indonesia
- Using compost to restore degraded land in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment
- Granulated biosolids in turf
