Designs and approvals

Following assessments of post flood impacts, priority estuarine locations for rehabilitation have been identified. Funding has been used to complete bank stabilisation and rehabilitation designs developed using best practice principles and incorporating robust engineering design with natural habitat features.

Required environmental assessments are also being undertaken, along with the development of planning and approval advice. This step ensures that proposed works will meet environmental compliance and regulatory requirements and minimise ecological impacts. It will also assist in obtaining funds for delivery of future on ground works.

Bank stabilisation design and planning have been completed at the following priority sites:

  • Marshalls Creek
  • North Haven
  • Longreach (Shoalhaven River)
  • Nambucca River
  • Southgate (Clarence River) and
  • Limeburners Creek.
