Plant Growth Index (PGI)
Large areas of southern, and central NSW continue to have low Plant Growth Index (PGI) values.
- Values continue to remain high for most of the Western, Greater Sydney and South Coast regions.
- Further improvement can be observed in the long-term PGI vales in the central and eastern Murray and Riverina regions over the past month.
- Seasonal pasture growth deficits can be observed across a large area of north to northeast and central NSW (3 and 6 month PGI).
- Regions with high PGI values have experienced climatic conditions that are effective for pasture and crop production over the last 12 months.
