This work included the use of aerial, roving creel, access point (‘on-site’ methods) and telephone, diary and logbook surveys (‘off-site’ methods). For example, an assessment of the impact of fishing ‘havens’ was done using on-site survey methods in Lake Macquarie and Tuross Lake. Baseline data on recreational fisheries was collected in the Greater Sydney Region (Newcastle to Wollongong) during 2007- 2009 from multiple locations prior to proposed changes in fisheries regulations for this area. Jeff has played a major role in large scale ‘off-site’ surveys such as the National Recreational and Indigenous Fishing Survey of 2000/01 and the 2013/14 NSW/ACT survey of recreational fishing.  Jeff is currently coordinating a comprehensive series of surveys for the Recreational Fisheries Monitoring Program which began in 2017/18.
