Allen Benter
Dr Allen Benter leads the Digital Agriculture team, a multi-disciplinary team of computer and agricultural scientists demonstrating how digital technology can help farmers adapt to the changing climate and increasing climate variability.
He is based in Orange, NSW, and has been with NSW DPIRD since 2017 developing hardware and software tools for farmers and research teams. His research has focused on the applications of the Internet of Things and the data value chain within primary industries, and the use of machine learning across agriculture and fisheries.
Prior to joining NSW DPIRD Allen was a lecturer in computing at Charles Sturt University. His PhD research investigated ground penetrating radar imaging for underground mining applications.
