Poultry welfare

The welfare of livestock (including poultry) in NSW is protected under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979 (POCTA) and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Regulation.

Anyone who is involved with the daily care of poultry has a responsibility to make sure the birds' welfare needs are met at all times.
