Building a trusted dairy development team
Planning a dairy development can be challenging because for most developers it involves consideration of unfamiliar planning and assessment requirements. Building a team of experienced advisors and peers will help gather the necessary information for the final development and build confidence in the process. A knowledgeable team can also help plan for future growth and flexibility.
For larger or more complex developments, commence planning and organising the proposed development with the help of a trusted:
- planning consultant with experience in agriculture, specifically the dairy industry, who understands your needs and the local planning requirements
- building and facility designer to develop concept plans
- surveyor to conduct a site survey and prepare options for siting and layout of the dairy complex, individual facilities and the manure management system (if required).
Upgrading the manure management system is usually required for dairy developments. It’s important that a trained effluent systems designer, or a professional with proven experience in similar projects, undertakes the necessary assessments, design and implementation.
